Matt’s Story


 

The Srama Group embodies the culture of giving power back to the buyers and is proud of the company tagline, “your partner in buying property”. This phrase is extremely sentimental to Matt Srama as he found out first hand the lack of representation for buyers in the current Real Estate landscape. Misinformed information from real estate selling agents, nobody to lean on during the complex process and not having access to all available stock, lead Matt to miss out on numerous property opportunities when he first started his real estate purchasing journey.

Instead of giving up he studied and learnt new innovative ways to deal with real estate agents, learnt the art of real estate negotiation and spent hours researching how and why certain real estate markets outperform others here in Australia.

 

Having new clarity and confidence around the importance of correct asset selection, combined with his already established dedication, discipline and personal desire to achieve a goal, Matt was able to kick start his property journey to new heights whilst in his early 20’s. Today he still refines and works hard on his strategies to continually build his robust multi-million dollar property portfolio.  Matt currently sits in the top 1% of property investors in the country.


Matt also played professional Rugby League for the Gold Coast Titans franchise, who are an Australian based team in the worlds top Rugby League competition, known as the NRL (National Rugby League). This rise to the top started whilst he was only a teenager and he was one of the youngest ever members of The Gold Coast Titans NRL team. Once again this solidifies Matt’s tenacity, dedication and work ethic to achieve goals that only the top % of high performers could ever achieve in their lifetime.


He carved out an illustrious NRL career that spanned over 6 seasons, but it was unfortunately cut down prematurely due to constant injuries and major surgeries. Via doctors advice Matt was told to give up his dream of playing in the NRL, which at first obviously shocked Matt and devastated him and his family. He refused to give up and instead of wallowing in disappointment, he used this chapter of his life as an opportunity to reflect and leverage himself to seek his other passion in life, Real Estate.


 

He then went on to start a career as a Real Estate sales agent. Within only a few months of becoming a sales agent Matt notched up a few personal Business milestones including rookie agent of the year nomination and obtained numerous street sale records. He then went on to sell subsequent property within only a few months, and it was evident Matt had a formidable knack of understanding how to market, negotiate and sell real estate effectively.

Matt’s dedication to learning his craft, be adaptable to innovation, discipline to follow process and his overall work ethic proved to be a catalyst for a great career as a real estate sales agent. But something Matt could not stop thinking about was the lack of representation for the Gold Coast property buyers he was dealing with. It was so hard to educate and tell them how to achieve a great property at a great price due to Matt working for the seller. So Matt decided to leave an industry where he literally had the world at his feet, to pursue his mission and purpose of giving more power back to the buyers.

Matt’s personal investing achievements, shared with his wealth of knowledge and contacts within the real estate industry, became very evident among his friends, family and peer group. Matt became a common person to turn to when they needed help and education around buying Gold Coast property. After helping so many people close to him, he realised he has a huge passion to help and serve others to seek out property aspirations of their own. He also recognised how simple it can really be to gain momentum in property if you have someone to partner with.

Matt became the person to others that he was hoping to seek validation and guidance from when he started his property journey. His empathy and desire to serve combined with his entrepreneurial vision and high performance mindset, has truly inspired Matt to create what is now formally known as The Srama Group, “your partner in buying property”. 


Real estate success has given Matt the freedom to truly aim for a life lived on his own terms and to only seek out projects that bring a sense of personal fulfilment. At the moment Matt dedicates a portion of his time to helping out schools with sports coaching and also helping young aspiring athletes achieve their dreams with his mentorship and development-coaching assistance at the Gold Coast Titans, which services thousands of young kids within QLD and northern NSW.


Using his personal portfolio success, his real estate sales agent experience/contacts, his high performance mindset and his genuine heart to want to help grow others, Matt Srama has created The Srama Group to truly empower others to buy Gold Coast property with confidence whilst financially benefiting long term. The vision of The Srama Group is to impact, innovate and influence a new way to buy property on the Gold Coast that can directly provide opportunities to give back to the local Gold Coast community.
